Buyers are responsible to provide proof of insurance as required by law before taking delivery of the vehicle. In most cases Insurers will extend existing insurance policies to cover your new vehicle purchase. The lenders will not release the funds for the loan against the vehicle unless evidence of coverage is provided. They may dictate the level of deductible required to protect the vehicle in the event of a collision or loss. You will be provided the necessary information to register the lender as the lien holder on the insurance policy for payments in the event of a loss.
